Klimt Egg

Yep, another egg 😁 I used an extruder technique that produces a cane where the colors keep changing. Because the colored areas resemble the work of the painter Gustav Klimt, it is also called the Klimt technique. I then coated a blown-out egg with slices of that cane. There are some flaws in it, but for a first try I don't think it is bad at all 😊 The egg was not completely evenly coated, so I had to sand for several hours to get the egg shape back (instead of a sphere with bulges 😅). The biggest challenge, however, was the glossy coating. It was difficult to apply this evenly without dripping. In the end I used spray paint (many layers 😶) and my partner printed a stand especially for this with the 3D printer. The end result: a cheerful egg 😉

Everything is made of Fimo (polymer clay) and the holder is reinforced with iron wire, so that it does not sag under the weight of the egg. The egg with holder is 7 cm x 5.8 cm x 5.2 cm (HxWxD).
