Zentangle Circles

To get the hang of drawing again, I wanted to start simple. That's why I chose zendoodles/zentangles, based on circles in different sizes that partly overlap each other. Zendoodle is a form of drawing in which you draw abstract, repeating patterns within a certain shape, such as a circle or square. The goal of Zendoodle is to express your creativity and at the same time relax by focusing on drawing the patterns. Zentangle is similar to Zendoodle, but has a more structured approach. With Zentangle you use specific patterns that are built up step by step. The most important thing is to enjoy the process and unleash your creativity!

Zendoodles and Zentangles can look very complex, but mainly consist of simple patterns. Gradually I also added some more complicated patterns with depth. I used a compass for the circles and a ruler for some patterns, but most of it was drawn freehand. This gives a more playful effect and makes it a little less tight. I am very satisfied with the result 😊.

The drawing is made on cold pressed, heavyweight paper. It is partly drawn up with pencil and then filled in with different sizes of fineliners. The dimensions are 21 cm by 28.3 cm (HxW).
