3D swirl drawing

By chance I came across a drawing technique in which a compass is used to create depth. It was a nice combination of my two previous drawing exercises (Zentangle Circles, Drawing with vanishing points). A set of circles that are offset, creating a bit of a vortex effect. It didn't look too complicated, only a bit of measuring... 😅 It actually went well! I wanted to take it a little further and decided to fill the rest of the sheet with more of these patterns in different sizes. Because I kept using different sizes, I had to measure a lot and because the circles partly fell outside the drawing field, I did not have suitable reference points everywhere. Suddenly I had made things very complicated for myself! (What a surprise…😂)

The drawing is made on cold pressed, heavyweight paper. It is drawn and filled with different sizes of fineliners. The dimensions are 21 cm by 28.3 cm (HxW).
