Sometimes I use shrink film for other projects, but it can also be a fun project on its own. Inspired by my earlier 'stained glass' versions for The Abbey and Walnut Chapel I made a kaleidoscope drawing. Coloring it is especially challenging, because it does not dry completely on the slippery surface. So you have to be very careful that you don't accidentally wipe it away or that colors run together. After baking, the color is 'solid'. I punched a hole in it (before baking!) so that it can be hung, for example in a window or in the Christmas tree.
The drawing was made on shrink film with fineliners and colored with a combination of felt-tip pens and gel pens. After cutting out the shape, it is briefly put in the oven on the hottest setting. The film shrinks approximately to a third of its size, the final size of the ornament has a diameter of 7 cm (D)
