This is my first attempt at a vanishing fore edge painting. I made it during a course in England. It is not easy to make, but it is very satisfying!
If you look closely, you can still see a little bit of the image when the book is closed. This is because the painting is applied to a book whose edges are already gilded. If you apply the gilding after the book has been painted, it will disappear completely. But that's a completely different complicated technique to learn, so for now I'll stick to pre-gilded books 😉
