Black Cats cushion

I hadn't embroidered since childhood until I started this project. I wanted to do something creative where I didn't have to think too much (and so I didn't think about how much counting there is involved with patterns like this one 😆). I've been working on it for over a year, also because I sometimes set it aside for weeks. But I found it very relaxing to do and since then I embroider more often. I decided to also fill in the background and I thought a dark night sky would be appropriate. And when it was done, I thought: what do I do with it now? I didn't want to frame it and hang it on the wall. Since I also like to work with the sewing machine, I made a decorative cushion out of it. To be honest, for a first attempt I think it's rather nice! 😊

The cushion is made of linen in the color navy and has a zipper of 40 cm in the underside. The cushion is 42 x 42 cm. The cross stitch kit is from RTO's 'Among Black Cats' line, which I bought through https://www.spinnerij.nl/. I filled in the background with DMC yarn from the Color Variations line, Mid Summer Night, 4240, bought at https://www.hobbydoos.nl/. I don't get paid for mentioning the websites, but I think it's proper to mention it and if you want to make something like this, you know where to find the items. Only the kit I used here is no longer available, but other prints from the 'Among Black Cats' line are still available.
