Vein Vase

This vase has now started its 2nd life 😊 A friend of mine bought the vase to cover with a homemade rough paint as an afternoon project. After a while she got tired of the vase and moved it to the cupboard. Because a rough surface is nice to apply polymer clay to, she gave it to me. From a previous project (Halloween 2) I still had quite a bit of the vein cane left. That is the challenge when you make a cane: you have to make sure you have enough for your project (recreating it in exactly the right colors and shapes is often difficult) but if you have a lot left over, what do you do with the rest? The vase provided a solution. The organic red lines contrast nicely with the white and this gives a playful effect. And I still have some cane left... 😅

The vase is made of ceramic, treated with a mixture of paint and cornstarch for a rough texture. It is then coated with Fimo (polymer clay). The vase has a diameter of 7 cm and a height of 18.5 cm.
