Last September, I took my small sketchbook with me on holiday again. We went to England, so there was plenty of chance of a rainy day where I could spend some time drawing with a cup of (British) tea and a scone 😋. I ended up drawing for a single hour on one afternoon, because of course, there was plenty to see and do. So in the end I finished it at home.
I drew some lines to divide the sheet into triangles and filled them in with doodles. The whole idea is that this technique is relaxing and always gives you a good result without thinking to much. But I spent quite a bit of time deciding on the right doodle for the right place, to get a good balance between shapes and light and dark areas. Regardless, I'm happy with the result 😊.
The drawing was created between early September and early November 2025 on heavy, fine-grained paper. The triangles were created with a ruler, and the doodles were drawn freehand. I used a 0.5 mm fine liner. It measures 13 cm by 18 cm (H x W).
